The Tower has a public observatory in the 10^th platform situated at 115 meters above the Turo de la Vilana; this is the geographic name of the site of the Tower, a smooth hillock of the Collserola mountain range, a chain running parallel to the coast and at a distance of 7 km between the beds of Besos and Llobregat rivers.The Turo de la Vilana rises to 445 meters above sea level which gives the Observatory an all round view from a total height of 560 meters. With normal meteorological circumstances the view reaches up to 70km with a magnificent panorama over the whole of the metropolitan area, the Collserola Park, Montserrat and as far as Cadi Sierra. The observatory has a separate entrance for the public by means of a pedestrian walkway that goes from the outside car park up to the entrance of the public area. This 300 meters walkway is situated near La font de la Bulladera in the area of Collserola park, adding extra interest to the visit. The public can enter into the telecommunications complex by the visitors tunnel in the interior of which is housed the reception, automatic cafeteria and toilets. Access to the observatory is gained by a panoramic elevator with a glazed platform that covers the 135 meters in 2.5 minutes. The elevator is on the outside facing Barcelona and the sea and constitutes a spectacular part of the visit, which culminates in the observatory. The circular space is protected by sealed glazing and climatized for the comfort of the visitor with a capacity in excess of 100 people. The public area is not just suitable for public visitors , groups and schools but also for meetings such as conventions, seminars, presentations of products and other business assemblies that can combine the space of the observatory with other more conventional rooms.
